The Story

Easy Meals is a fast-growing subscription meal-kit company that has ridden a wave of consumer enthusiasm for healthy, convenient home cooking. Fueled by rapid digital innovation and aggressive marketing, the company has doubled revenue over the last two years and is now preparing for an IPO that could transform both the business and the careers of its senior leaders.

Participants play the executive leadership team of Easy Meals—roles such as CEO, CFO, and COO. At the start of the simulation, they’re asked to set ambitious yet realistic goals for the coming year and allocate their own discretionary budgets across key initiatives: growth, risk management, technology, operations, and people. Each leader submits an individual budget, but the only way to succeed is to align around a shared strategy under time pressure and incomplete information.

Throughout the simulation, participants receive data updates, stakeholder reactions, and media coverage in real time. They must collaborate across functions, negotiate priorities, and communicate decisions under pressure. At the end, they see the financial, operational, and reputational results of their choices—as well as feedback from employees, customers, and investors—providing a rich basis for debrief and reflection.
